Millions of pets are lost every year and microchipping is a permanent form of identification which can help you to reunite with your lost pet. At Paws and Claws, we carry Datamars Microfindr slim microchips. These microchips carry a unique 15 digit code and are compliant with ISO Standard 11784. Free lifetime registration to PetLink, a 24/7/365 pet recovery service, is included with every microchip.
Care for Chronic Conditions
At Paws and Claws, we can help you manage a variety of chronic conditions in your pets, including hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, chronic kidney disease, osteoarthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, etc.
We understand how difficult and heart-wrenching it can be to say goodbye to a beloved pet. If the time has come, in-home humane euthanasia can be performed in the comfort and privacy of your own home.
On the Paws and Claws Mobile Vet Clinic, we carry a small supply of those medications that your pet may need on the same day of your appointment (ear medications, antibiotics, etc.). We also carry a small supply of flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, for your convenience. If your pet requires a prescription diet, we are pleased to offer both Hill’s Direct to Home and Purina Vet Direct. Both of these allow you to order your pet’s food directly from the manufacturer and have it conveniently delivered to your doorstep. We also have partnered with Vetsource and have a convenient online store where you can order your pet’s medications, request refills and have these medications delivered directly to your home. Prescription foods, including those from Royal Canin, are also available through our online store with Vetsource. Of course, we are always happy to provide you with a written prescription, free of charge, or approve requests made through outside pharmacies.
We are very fortunate to have multiple board-certified veterinary specialists in our area, and we are always happy to refer your pet for specialty care or additional diagnostics. As we do not have the ability to hospitalize patients in our mobile clinic, we will always suggest referral to a 24 hour facility for our patients who we believe would benefit from hospitalization.
At Paws and Claws, we utilize a variety of diagnostic laboratories, including IDEXX and ZNLabs (Animal Reference Pathology). We also offer some in-house tests.
Blood Pressure Checks
Pets with certain health conditions should have their blood pressure checked. At Paws and Claws, we have the equipment necessary to provide this service.
Eye Pressure Checks
Sometimes, pets need their eye pressure checked. At Paws and Claws, we have the ability to check intraocular pressure with our Tonovet tonometer.
A proper diet can play an important part in the overall health of your pet. At Paws and Claws, we are happy to provide you with information about your pet’s diet and assist you in choosing an appropriate diet. If your pet is one who needs a prescription diet, we can assist you in getting that conveniently delivered to your home.
The Paws and Claws Mobile Vet Clinic has a separate surgery room to perform aseptic surgeries. In addition to the equipment that we already have, we have ordered additional equipment for monitoring ECG, heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, and EtCO2.
